The client
Before you can start playing you have to install the game. You can download it here:
- WoW-Client
- optional: Burning Crusade
- optional: Wrath of the Lich King (will currently not supported)
- other mirrors
Patches
After the installation of World of Warcraft on your Mac you have to patch your client to version 3.3.3a
Necessary preparations
Change realmlist
If you have the current version of World of Warcraft you have to change the realmlist. Go to the directory where your World of Warcraft is located. Switch to Data/enUS (or e.g. enEN), open the file realmlist.wtf with a normal editor and change the content to:
set realmlist wow.orangevir.us
Make sure that there is no error. If it is all correct then save and close the file.
Create and set an account
If you have no account you can learn how to create one here here. If you do not have The Burning Crusade you should read this.
Start WoW
You may notice that WoW tries to start the WoW-Launcher after the application of every patch. For playing World of Warcraft at Orange Virus you have to start the application World of Warcraft.app.
Problems
I can't download a patch
Try it again. Otherwise try another Patch mirror.
"Unable to validate game version"
If you get this error at the login you should check your current version of World of Warcraft. You will find the version number in the bottom left corner of your login screen. If the number of your version is below the number of the current version of Orange Virus you have to install the required patches. If your game version is above the required one you have to reinstall World of Warcraft.
